WHAT IS SKYPE?
Skype is an internet telephone system which uses on-line technology to have telephone conversations.
How much does it cost?
It is absolutely free to anyone using the same system. Calls to a non Skype phones are charged, but at an extremely low rate, €10 will last for approx 10 hours of telephone calls worldwide.
Getting started on Skype
You will need a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) phone, although you also can use a microphone and headphones plugged into your computer to make and receive calls.
Download the latest version and follow the simple instructions.
Choose a Skype name and complete your own Skype email account
and password.
Check that your phone is plugged in or your microphone and speakers are on.
Make your first call by selecting your friend’s name and press the big green call button.

Skype-out is a cheap way to call from Skype to landlines and mobile phones. You can also use SkypeOut to forward calls to your home number or mobile phone.
Skype-in is a number your friends can call you from any phone anywhere in the world, you can then pick up the call in Skype.
Skype takes your calls when you’re busy or off-line. Skype lets you send SMS messages to your friends mobile phones.
