Call out visits

We can send one of our notaries to a location of your choice. Our notaries regularly visit clients at homes, offices, hotels, hospitals and prisons amongst other places. A call out surcharge typically applies to visits, which is calculated on a minimum fixed-fee and hourly rate basis.

Step 1

  1. Contact us – you can email info@notary.co.uk, call 020 7630 1777 or chat with us online.

  2. Send us an email telling us what you require and where you need the notary to attend. It is helpful if you also attach a scan of the document you need us to notarise. We will review your instructions and get back to you with a quote.

  3. If you’re happy to proceed, we will confirm the appointment.  We will email over our invoice, together with a link to pay online, and payment will need to be made before the date of the appointment. A receipted invoice is available on request.

  4. You will need to email over a scan of the identity document(s) which the notary will be verifying at the appointment. If you are signing on behalf of another individual or company you will also need to email over your authority to do so in advance of the visit.

Step 2

  1. The notary will attend the appointment and complete the notarisation.

  2. If the notary is witnessing your signature, the notary will verify your identity, ascertain your understanding of what you are signing and that you are doing so of your own free will and to ensure that the document is executed correctly.

  3. If we are certifying documents, we request that copies are provided to the notary at the appointment.

  4. If you are unable to print any document or make copies at the location of the visit, please inform us in advance of the visit so that we can make alternative arrangements.

  5. If you also require legalisation or our courier service, the notary will bring the document back to our office so we can deal with the particular request.

Step 3

  1. After completing the notarisation at the appointment, the notary may request that a scan of the notarised document is emailed over to info@notary.co.uk.

  2. If during the visit additional work was completed by the notary which was not anticipated at the outset, and was not billed for, an additional invoice will be emailed.

  3. If we retained the document for legalisation, we will email you a scan of the completed document and return the documents back as requested. If we couriered the documents abroad for you, we will email over a DHL tracking number.
